daffodils are an amazing part of Spring in Ireland

It is spring in Ireland, or so they say;

an unusual blue, green and white spring day in Ireland.
an unusual blue, green and white spring day in Ireland.

here we follow the Irish calendar…

where SPRING is: February, March, and April;

SUMMER: May, June, July;

AUTUMN: August, September, October;

We use the word, “Autumn” in Ireland. “Fall” is what happens when you trip and end up face down on the ground…

and WINTER: November, December, and January.

However, the weather seems to be confused…a few daffodils are blooming around town, mine are slowly starting to open and the crocuses and other spring flowers are beginning to show their pretty faces, but just the other day we had flurries of snow with temperatures dropping to 32⁰F/0⁰C. Come on spring, get the memo…it’s time for you to fully arrive!

I came to live in Ireland several years ago following the love of my life…an Irish man. Now I’m happily married and the mother three. We live in the country with a view of an ancient castle ruins out our back windows and each day I am grateful to be alive, to be loved, to be here.
